With 35+ years’ experience of being engaged in the bi-lateral relationship between Australia and Japan, I have gained a deep, multi-layered understanding and respect for Japanese business and culture. Understanding these specific nuances, values and protocols, I help organisations navigate the complex Japanese business environment, identifying and matching opportunities to achieve the best results for all, recognising that the root to success lies in building long-lasting mutually beneficial relationships. As a result, I developed and, to this day, maintain a vast network of decision makers in ANZ and Japan.
My background spans consultancy, general management and entrepreneurship across industries including tourism, hospitality, finance and sports.
Today, as Executive Advisor to the Australian Olympic Committee, I use my experience and connections to ensure that the logistics and operations for Australia’s largest Olympic team for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics are professionally and effectively executed.
Until recently, I had also used my experience and connections to ensure that Gullivers Sports Travel delivered its largest & most successful Rugby World Cup project to date.
A former tennis pro, and the first non-Japanese to be accepted into the Japan Professional Tennis Association, I became a conduit in the Japan-Australia relationship early on, and since, have continued to use sport as a tool to connect.
I am fluent in spoken and written Japanese.
