Matt Kamienski

VICE PRESIDENT & EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, THE PRESIDENTS CUP | PGA TOUR

Matt Kamienski, 42, is a Vice President with the PGA TOUR and Executive Director of The Presidents Cup. Kamienski is responsible for the strategic development, revenue generation/management, operational management and overall leadership of the Presidents Cup event when staged internationally.  In addition Kamienski is also responsible for the management and oversight of the PGA TOUR’s office in Australia which includes to planning and delivery of the 2018 Melbourne World Cup of Golf.

The Presidents Cup is one of the most prestigious and anticipated events on golf’s calendar. Held every two years, The Presidents Cup is a team match play competition featuring 24 of the world’s top golfers – 12 from the United States and 12 from around the world, excluding Europe. The event alternates between sites in the United States and international venues. The 2019 event will be held at The Royal Melbourne Golf Club in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. This will mark the third time that the event has been held in Australia, all at The Royal Melbourne Golf Club, making it the only course and country outside the United States to host it more than once.

Kamienski’s 20-year PGA TOUR resume began with his role as Operations Manager for the first World Golf Championships-NEC Invitational, and he has since played a significant role in every World Golf Championships event from the series’ inception in 1999.  Kamienski first served as executive director of The Presidents Cup in 2011 when it was held in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, and then again for the 2013 event in Dublin/Columbus, Ohio, USA and also for the 2015 event in Seoul, South Korea as it made its first foray into Asia.  Kamienski most recently served in this capacity for the 2017 event in Jersey City, NJ as the event was held at Liberty National Golf Club just across the Hudson from Manhattan.

Additionally he has held oversight roles of nine previous Presidents Cup events and has been an integral part of some of golf’s most prestigious tournaments, with leadership roles across the World Golf Championships events and with the World Cup of Golf.  Working at more than 80 international golf events throughout his career, he has garnered extensive experience in event operations and management in Japan, Australia, China, Mexico, Canada, United States, the United Kingdom, Spain, Portugal, South Africa, Barbados, South America and Malaysia.

Kamienski, an Ohio native, graduated from Miami University in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science in health and sport studies and a minor in marketing.  He and his wife Stacey live in Beaumaris, Victoria, Australia with their two daughters – Sydney age 14 and Tyler age 12.
